In this interview, Beatriz Lima, shared her professional and personal journey as an intellectual property lawyer. In the interview, she highlighted NLP’s recent victory before the Court of Appeal of the Unified Patent Court in Luxembourg, which overturned the first instance decision from the Lisbon Local Division, as well as her ongoing work in national patent litigation in the pharmaceutical sector.
Beatriz also reflected on the challenges and rewards of founding a law firm, the balance between management and client work, and the importance of interpersonal skills alongside technical expertise in IP. She emphasized how intellectual property should be viewed as a strategic asset from the very beginning of any business.
