NLP partnered with Glipsu as sponsor and organising partner of the first Lisbon Patents & Standards Conference, a new flagship forum dedicated to UPC practice and patent protection in Europe.
NLP was delighted to partner with Glipsu as both a sponsor and organisational partner of the inaugural Lisbon Patents & Standards Conference, held in Lisbon on 19 June 2026.
This landmark event brought together ten UPC judges from several Member States, in-house counsel from key industry sectors, and partners from leading law firms to discuss the future of patent litigation, standard-essential patents (SEPs), and innovation in Europe. Featuring six high-level panels covering topics ranging from preliminary injunctions and UPC litigation strategies to judicial perspectives from the bench, the conference established itself as a leading forum for professionals involved in patent litigation across Europe.
NLP was represented by its two founding partners, Sara Nazaré and Beatriz Lima.
As a conference sponsor, NLP also had the pleasure of hosting the Speakers' Welcome Dinner on 18 June. The evening began with a cruise along the River Tagus and became truly unforgettable when a pod of dolphins unexpectedly appeared alongside the boat. It provided a unique opportunity to thank the speakers, strengthen professional relationships, and celebrate the launch of what promises to become a leading annual conference. The dinner was hosted by NLP founding partner Joana Piriquito Santos.
It was a privilege for NLP to contribute to the success of the Lisbon PSC 2026, and we remain committed to supporting the continued development of UPC practice, patent litigation and innovation across Europe.
